Note:
This 3-days gorilla trekking safari in Uganda itinerary is ideal for those already in Uganda. However, if you are arriving from outside Uganda and your flight lands at Entebbe Airport after 8:00 a.m. you will need to spend the night in Entebbe and fly to Bwindi the next day.
Alternatively, you can land in Kigali and cross the Rwanda-Uganda border, with an approximate 4-5 hours drive from Kigali to Bwindi.

Trekking gorillas in Uganda needs some fitness since you trek through the dense forests of the Bwindi National park, you’ll be guided by experienced trackers to locate one of the habituated gorilla families. Upon finding them, you’ll have the incredible opportunity of 1 hour to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, watching them playing is a humbling and moving experience that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.

To see gorillas in Uganda, visitors must be at least 15 years and above. This age requirement is in place to ensure the safety of both the visitors and the gorillas, as trekking through the dense forest can be physically demanding.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Today, prepare for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have breakfast around 6:00 am and be at the tracking center at 07:15 a.m. You will receive a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Subsequently, you will be divided into groups of a maximum of 8 individuals to visit a gorilla family. Accompanied by experienced guides and armed rangers, you will embark on a search for mountain gorillas through dense forests. Upon encountering the gorilla family, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The duration of the trek can vary from 1 hour to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Afterward, you will return to the starting point to receive a gorilla trekking certificate as proof of your experience in Uganda before returning to your lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Retreat to Kampala City/ Entebbe Airport
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge, preparing for your departure. Around 6:30 AM, we will escort you to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe Airport. Upon arrival around noon, you will have ample time to catch your connecting flight and this marks the end your 3-days gorilla trekking safari. Alternatively, if you have an evening flight, we can arrange a relaxing day room at a nearby hotel, allowing you to unwind until it’s time for your departure.
