Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater, located in Tanzania, is one of Africa's most breathtaking natural wonders. Formed millions of years ago when a giant volcano erupted and collapsed on itself, the crater now forms a vast, verdant basin teeming with wildlife. Often referred to as "Africa's Garden of Eden," the Ngorongoro Crater offers visitors a unique opportunity to see a wide variety of animals in a relatively small and accessible area.

The crater spans about 260 square kilometers and is approximately 610 meters deep. Its lush landscape includes grasslands, swamps, lakes, and forests, all contributing to its rich biodiversity. The crater is part of the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which also encompasses the Serengeti Plains and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
