Day 3: Game drive and transfer to Serengeti National Park

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Serengeti National Park, home to the iconic wildebeest migration. The Central Serengeti provides excellent game viewing opportunities all year round, thanks to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River

Valley in Central Serengeti is a must-see attraction on every safari, regardless of the time of year. The Park is renowned for its annual wildebeest migration to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, established as a national park in 1951 and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. Serengeti boasts rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Game viewing is particularly good during the dry

season (June - November) when resident animals gather in the area due to the scarcity of water on the plains. Common herbivores include

impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest, and giraffe. Predators such as lions, leopards, and Cheetah also reside here. Check in the lodge in the late evening.

Day 4: All Day Exploring Serengeti National Park

Begin the day with the morning game drive, offering opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife including hartebeests, lions, leopards, impalas, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species such as ostriches, parrots, vultures, and more. Weather permitting; you will capture breathtaking photographic moments with the sunrise.

About

Where is Tanzania located?

Tanzania is located in East Africa, bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south, and the Indian Ocean to the east. Its capital city is Dodoma, while Dar es Salaam serves as its largest city and main port.

What is the language spoken in Tanzania?

The official languages of Tanzania are Swahili (Kiswahili) and English. Swahili is widely spoken and serves as the lingua franca, while English is used in business, government, and education. It's helpful to learn a few basic Swahili phrases to enhance your travel experience and communicate with locals.

What is the currency used in Tanzania?

The currency used in Tanzania is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). While US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas and for larger purchases, it's advisable to carry some Tanzanian Shillings for smaller transactions and in more remote areas.

What are some traditional foods and drinks to try in Tanzania?

Tanzania offers a rich culinary heritage influenced by its diverse cultures and geographical regions. Some traditional foods to try include:

Ugali: A staple dish made from maize flour, often served with meat or vegetable stew.

Nyama Choma: Grilled meat, typically goat, beef, or chicken, seasoned with spices and served with side dishes like ugali and salad.

Pilau: Spiced rice cooked with meat or vegetables, flavored with cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and other spices.

Chapati: Thin, unleavened flatbread, usually served with meat, beans, or vegetables.

Mandazi: Sweet, deep-fried doughnuts, often enjoyed as a snack or breakfast item.

Traditional drinks include:

Chai: Sweet, milky tea flavored with spices like ginger, cardamom, and cloves.

Tembo: A local brew made from fermented maize or millet, often consumed during celebrations and social gatherings.

Coconut water: Fresh coconut water, readily available in coastal areas and on Zanzibar Island, is known for its refreshing taste and health benefits.

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit Tanzania largely depends on what you want to experience. The dry season from June to October is considered the best time for wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources, and vegetation is sparse, making wildlife easier to spot. The wildebeest migration in the Serengeti usually occurs from December to July, offering a spectacular wildlife spectacle.

However, the wet season from November to May brings lush landscapes, fewer tourists, and the opportunity to witness newborn animals. It's essential to consider your priorities and interests when planning your visit.

Cost of Tanzania Safari

The cost of a safari in Tanzania can vary depending on various factors such as the duration of the safari, the level of luxury or accommodation chosen, the number of people in your group, and the activities included. Generally, safaris range from budget-friendly options to luxury experiences, with prices typically covering accommodation, meals, transportation, park fees, and guided activities. It's advisable to research and compare safari packages offered by a tour operator to find one that fits your budget and preferences.

Where to go?

Tanzania offers a diverse range of destinations catering to various interests. Some of the must-visit places include:

Serengeti National Park: Famous for its annual wildebeest migration and abundant wildlife.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area: Home to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder and wildlife hotspot

.

Mount Kilimanjaro: Africa's highest peak, offering trekking and climbing adventures.

Zanzibar: Known for its pristine beaches, rich history, and vibrant culture.

Tarangire National Park: Renowned for its large elephant population and baobab trees.

Lake Manyara National Park: A scenic park known for its tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife.

A great company to travel with.."mond safaris uganda " It was our first time in Uganda, me and wife booked a wildlife tour to Murchison falls National Park, at the time of inquiry, we received a shift reply from mond safaris Uganda team, responding quickly to all our questions. our guide made the entire Murchison Falls tour exceptional ,,, trust me we don't regret every dollar spent on our trip, the quality service we got right away from the time of arrival at the Entebbe airport until the end of the safari was more than worthy our money. I recommend this company to anyone planning a Uganda safari this season!!!

Exciting and Humbling Mondi Safaris is quick to respond and has a better appreciation of what we were trying to achieve than the other companies, and the price was friendly and better. Mondi Safaris put together a full itinerary (which he communicated to us prior) including Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls, Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi, and some street art and ended up at the Markets. Mondi Safaris met us at our apartment in Entebbe Town near the Airport and walked with us to the taxi ride to and from the street art, to save time. Mondi Safaris obviously provided a running commentary during the tour but also gave us an interesting insight into the recent history of Uganda, as well as providing tips on other things to see and places to eat in Uganda. Highly recommended.

Extraordinary Travel with Mond Safaris ASAP! I recently returned from a trip to Uganda and had the pleasure to travel with Jose from Mond. One of the highlights of my trips was seeing the mountain gorillas. I flew to the location, Jose drove the long 10 hours to meet me and travel with me around the amazing sites around Uganda. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable as a tour guide, he is very personable, and will make your experience unforgettable. You will feel like you've known him for years after a few hours. Traveling through the wildlife parks and additional sites was an extraordinary experience with Jose. Further, he has knowledge far beyond that of any guide I have traveled with when it comes to issues that involve the vehicle you are traveling in, routes that should be taken to avoid delays etc. Every morning you will find him hard at work cleaning your vehicle, checking the oil, and preparing to gather your bags. This is man that takes care of your every need. He will take special care to be sure you are booked at the best lodges/camps with views that will take your breath away and staff that go above and beyond to be sure your stay(s) are perfect. Mond is open to any suggestions or options from the client and will got out of their way to be sure your trip is personalized, perfect and one that will be a "once in a lifetime"......although you will want to come back!!!! Book your travel with Mond without blinking any eye. I have already booked mine!!! Of note- there is a question below that asks if the locations was exciting, unusual or risky- Everything was exciting and unusual. Nothing was risky, Uganda is very safe especially when you are traveling with Mond.
