Established in 1952 and named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II, the park spans about 1,978 square kilometers and boasts a stunning variety of landscapes, including savannah, wetlands, lakes, and volcanic craters. This rich mix of environments makes it a paradise for wildlife and nature lovers.

The park is home to over 95 mammal species and more than 600 bird species, making it one of the best places in East Africa. Among the notable animals you can see are elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and hippos. A special highlight is the tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector.
