Embark on a thrilling 3-day Rwanda wildlife tour , specifically exploring the remarkable Akagera National Park. This itinerary offers an unforgettable experience, combining game drives, boat trips, and a night game drive to encounter a diverse array of wildlife.

ITINERARY DETAILS

 

DAY 1: PICK UP AND TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK (TRAVEL TIME: 2.5 HOURS)

You will be warmly picked up by your guide from Mond Safaris From there, we will embark on a scenic journey to Akagera National Park. The drive to the park takes approximately 2.5 hours, allowing you to enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the way. If you wish, feel free to ask your guide for stopovers to capture some stunning photographs. Once we arrive at the park, we will proceed to the reception and then embark on a memorable boat trip on Lake Ihema. During the boat trip, you will have the opportunity to observe hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and other wildlife along the water banks. After the boat trip, we will go on a game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening. Your accommodation options include Magashi Camp (High end), Ruzizi Tented Lodge (Midrange), or Akagera Game Lodge (Budget).

DAY 2: MORNING GAME DRIVE AND NIGHT GAME DRIVE

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out for an exhilarating morning game drive in Akagera National Park. This is the perfect time to spot late hunters and early risers among the wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for majestic animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, various antelope species, and the recently reintroduced lions and rhinos. We will make our way to Karenge Bush Camp for a delightful lunch, followed by a relaxed afternoon as we prepare for the incredible night game drive, scheduled to start around 5:30 PM. The night game drive, which lasts 2-3 hours, is a unique opportunity to search for nocturnal animals like hyenas, civets, leopards, bush babies, and various cat species. After the night game drive, return to the lodge for a late hot dinner and a comfortable overnight stay. You can choose to stay at Magashi Camp (High end), Ruzizi Tented Lodge (Midrange), or Akagera Game Lodge (Budget).

DAY 3: DEPARTURE FROM AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK (TRAVEL TIME: 2.5 HOURS)

Enjoy a delightful breakfast as you soak in the final moments of your stay in Akagera National Park. After breakfast, it will be time to bid farewell to this magnificent place and start your journey back to Kigali for your departure flight. Check out from your lodge and meet your guide, who will accompany you throughout the day. As you leave the park, take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you—the vast savannahs, rolling hills, and abundant wildlife. Reflect on the unforgettable experiences you’ve had during your wildlife tour in Rwanda before concluding your adventure.
